RAIN Conference returns to Toronto with a focus on podcasting
The second annual RAIN Summit Canada returns to Toronto on Oct 16, 2019. The conference’s focus is on all things digital audio, with a significant chunk of the schedule devoted specifically to the podcast industry.
The Canadian Podcast Listener 2019 survey will officially be released the day of the conference. Co-publishers Jeff Vidler of Signal Hill Insights and yours truly (Jeff Ulster, TPX’s Chief Content Officer) will be presenting some highlights from this year’s survey, which includes surprising new insights about podcast listening on YouTube and Spotify, podcast discovery, advertising, consumption trends and more.
That will be followed by a discussion with some of the podcast industry’s publishing and advertising agency leaders, to answer the question “How can podcasting get its fair share of ad budgets?”. The all-day event also includes another must-see: a round table bringing together the creators and hosts of some of Canada's most successful podcasts across categories and topics.
Brad Hill, RAIN’s President, believes the Canadian digital audio marketplace is exceptionally dynamic, and podcasting is playing an increasingly important role. "Podcasting has become a growth leader in this golden age of audio, and the Canadian market is one of the most robust in the world, Brad says. "Our mission in Toronto is to bring experts together to define the on-demand audio marketplace, bring buyers and sellers together in a thought leadership environment, and shine light on the opportunities for all stakeholders.”
Jean-Marie Heimrath, CEO of TPX, says Canada has a passionate podcast fan-base that is increasingly important to the digital audio industry. He’s happy to see the increased focus on podcasting this year. "Rain Summit Canada supports our business strategy to work with domestic and global publishers in partnership with Canadian advertisers to harness the full potential of the Canadian podcast audience,” says Jean-Marie.
TPX is proud to be a supporting sponsor of this year’s RAIN Summit Canada.
